Where there are two years, the first is based on calculations of is Jacob moved to Laban when he was 40. The second date is based on working backwards from 1749 of Jacobs death. There is a 31 year discrepancy between the two dates. This means that Esau was married for 31 years before he realized that his parents didn't like his wives. The second date means that Jacob fled to Laban in 1825. The 1825 date makes slightly more sense, because otherwise Isaac (practically on his deathbed providing blessings for Jacob and Esau happened 49 years before he died, if it was in 1856, he was in that state for 80 years. The second date also means that Jacob started having kids when he was 85. The lower number date is probably the correct one.
